Internship program
Turning preparation into opportunity
Real, hands-on workplace experience — with the skills, confidence and professional connections to carry it forward. You train first, then you are matched with an employer where the work is actual work.
What you get
Support the whole way through
The internship is the middle of the program, not the beginning and not the end. Preparation comes first and support continues after.
How it works
Seven steps, and you always know which one you are on
Training runs about 30–60 days. The internship itself is 4 weeks. Nothing about the sequence is a mystery.
Inquiry & intake → Advisor & career plan → Career & skills training → Employer matching → Employer internship → Employment decision → Continued support
-
Inquiry & intake
An intake conversation covering career goals, work history, education, skills, interests and anything currently standing in the way of employment.
-
Advisor & career plan
You are matched with an advisor who builds an individual pathway around your goals and the training you need.
-
Career & skills training
Resume development, mock interviews, digital literacy, professional communication, workplace expectations, career-specific skills and simulation-based practice.
30–60 days -
Employer matching
Once you are internship-ready, we match you with an employer partner on career interest, skills, availability and that employer's needs.
-
Employer internship
Hands-on work with an employer partner: real systems, real expectations, feedback and coaching, and professional references.
4 weeks -
Employment decision
At the end of the four weeks the employer may consider you for an open role, based on performance, need and availability.
-
Continued support
Career coaching, job-placement help, employer referrals, resume and interview support continue — whether or not the internship converts.
Ongoing
The placement
4 weeks inside a real workplace
The placement gives both sides something a résumé cannot: the participant finds out whether the role, the workplace and the career actually fit, and the employer sees the work rather than a piece of paper.
During the 4 weeks you will:
- Apply your training in a real professional environment
- Develop practical, industry-relevant experience
- Learn workplace systems, processes and expectations
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism and job performance
- Receive feedback and coaching
- Build professional relationships and references
- Show an employer what you can actually do
What we do not promise
Participation in an ATO internship does not guarantee employment. The program is designed to create an internship-to-hire pathway wherever that is possible.
If it does not convert
Support does not stop when the four weeks end. Career coaching, job-placement help, employer referrals, résumé and interview support all continue, and we keep working with you on the next opportunity.
For employers
Evaluate talent by watching the work
Our employer partners get four weeks with a candidate who has already completed workforce preparation — résumé, interview practice, workplace technology, professional communication. You see performance before you make a hiring decision, and there is no obligation to hire.
What an employer partner provides
- A real role with real tasks for 4 weeks
- A supervisor who will give feedback
- Consideration for open roles — if the fit is there
We handle preparation, matching and coaching. You provide the workplace.
Bridging the gap between talent and opportunity
One career at a time. Start with an intake conversation — it is about your goals, not a test.
